Following a review into the classification of the statutory further education (FE) sector, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) has decided to reclassify colleges into the public sector.
This document sets out how the government is responding to make sure that colleges can continue to fulfil their role within the public sector.
It applies to:
- FE colleges
- sixth form colleges
- designated institutions
