This sets out how government will transform alternative provision to make sure these education settings provide high-quality teaching and an education that meets the individual needs of all children, regardless of their circumstances.

This includes:

  • government’s vision for reforming AP
  • building a strong foundation for reform
  • developing and sharing best practice within and beyond AP
  • strengthening partnership arrangements for commissioning and delivering AP timeline for reform

AP settings are places that provide education for children who can’t go to a mainstream school.
