The House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, the Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament and a Joint Committee of both Houses of Parliament, considered the provisions in the draft bill. The command paper published above, sets out the government’s response to the 3 committees. It also provides a guide to the bill and how it responds to their recommendations.
The operational case for bulk powers gives detail on why the security and intelligence agencies need their existing powers and how they are used.
