This prospectus contains a number of proposals for improving rail passenger services in London and the south east.
It is proposed that a new working partnership is formed to provide strategic direction for the specification and management of rail services. The partnership would consist of:
- Department for Transport
- Transport for London
It will work closely with local authorities, local enterprise partnerships and other local and regional bodies. This partnership has been proposed to provide:
- more frequent rail services
- better rail interchanges
- increased rail capacity
- greater reliability of rail services
- high standards of customer service
