AI Growth Zones: expression of interest

Regional authorities, local authorities and industry were invited to submit an expression of interest for the development of AI Growth Zones.

AI Growth Zones will unlock investment in AI-enabled data centres and support infrastructure by improving access to power and providing planning support. These areas will help drive innovation, create high-skilled jobs, and strengthen the UK’s position as a leader in AI.

Regional authorities, local authorities and industry were invited to submit an expression of interest from 10 to 28 February 2025.

The formal application process for AI Growth Zones opened on 30 April 2025.
