The European Qualifications (Health and Social Care Professions) (EFTA States) (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020

These Regulations are made in exercise of the powers conferred by section 8(1) of, and paragraph 21 of Schedule 7 to, the European Union (Withdrawal) Act 2018 (c. 16) (“the 2018 Act”), in order to address failures of retained EU law to operate effectively and other deficiencies arising from the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the European Union (and in particular, the deficiencies under section 8(2)(c), (d) and (e), and section 8(3)(a) of that Act). Part 2 of the Regulations contains amendments to the European Qualifications (Health and Social Care Professions) (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 (S.I. 2019/593) (“the 2019 Regulations”) and Part 3 contains amendments to the European Qualifications (Pharmacists) (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations (S.I. 2019/585) (“the 2019 NI Regulations”).
