Football Governance Bill

The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport is implementing the Football Governance Act 2025, which establishes regulatory oversight of football clubs and competitions in England. The legislation includes statutory deadline regulations and specified competitions regulations, with implementation overseen by the Minister for Sport, Tourism, Civil Society and Youth. The Act is now in force with secondary legislation and regulatory instruments being issued to operationalise governance requirements.
