Consultation to help the development of legislation for banning conversion therapy.
The Government Equalities Office and Equality Hub are leading efforts to ban conversion therapy—practices claiming to change sexual orientation or gender identity. Multiple bills have been introduced (Conversion Practices Prohibition Bill, Conversion Therapy Prohibition Bill, and a combined Counsellors/Psychotherapists Regulation bill) to create legal prohibition. The policy is currently active with consultation documents and FAQs published.
