The Home Office is strengthening legislation on bladed articles, machetes, and crossbows through the Crime and Policing Bill and related orders, including age restrictions on knife sales and a licensing regime for knife sellers. The department is consulting on enforcement mechanisms for online and offline sales restrictions to persons under 18 and updating the Criminal Justice Act 1988 offensive weapons provisions.
