The Ministry of Justice is reviewing and reforming business tenancy law, specifically the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 Part II, to modernise commercial property rental arrangements and improve transparency and fairness between landlords and tenants. Key reform areas include fixed-term tenancies, section 21 notices, rent review clauses, and landlord accountability. The policy is in active consultation and development stage with multiple consultation papers and parliamentary scrutiny underway.
