Consumer Credit Act Reform
HM Treasury is reforming the Consumer Credit Act 1974 through consultation on data-sharing, salary advance schemes, and broader regulatory modernisation. The reform addresses gaps in FCA regulation of employer salary advance schemes (ESAS) and seeks to update consumer credit protections in light of emerging fintech and workplace lending products.
