The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme requires energy suppliers to fund household energy efficiency improvements, with recent reforms extending the scheme and introducing new amendment orders for 2026 onwards. DESNZ is implementing ECO through statutory orders and complementary funding mechanisms like the Warm Homes Fund to improve home insulation and heating. The policy remains active with regulatory amendments in progress.
