Energy National Policy Statements
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero is updating the National Policy Statements (EN-1, EN-3, EN-5) that set the strategic framework for energy infrastructure planning and consents in England. These overarching statements guide major energy projects including renewables, nuclear, and fossil fuel infrastructure through the planning system. The 2025 update reflects evolving energy policy priorities and changes to infrastructure planning application fees.
