Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA): statutory review, 2022 to 2025 — consultation closed
We're seeking views and evidence which will allow the government to assess the performance of the GCA against the measures set out in the GCA Act 2013.
The Department for Business and Trade is conducting a statutory review of the Groceries Code Adjudicator (GCA), the independent regulator overseeing fair trading practices between supermarkets and suppliers. The review, running 2022–2025, is examining whether the GCA has sufficient powers and effectiveness to address challenges in the grocery supply chain, particularly regarding agricultural sector concerns and supplier protections.
