The Department of Health and Social Care is establishing a statutory code of practice on learning disability and autism training, named after Oliver McGowan, to mandate training requirements for healthcare and social care staff. The code has completed consultation and is now in implementation stage, with easy-read versions and explanatory materials published to support uptake.
