The Department of Health and Social Care is implementing the Provider Selection Regime under the Health and Care Act 2022, which establishes new rules for how NHS decision-making bodies select healthcare providers. The Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023 set out the detailed requirements, and the department has completed consultation and impact assessment work. The regime is currently in active implementation across the health system.
