Public Sector Food and Catering Policy

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs is developing public sector food and catering policy to align government procurement with sustainable food production and environmental objectives outlined in the Agriculture Act 2020. The policy aims to create market demand for food produced with environmental and animal welfare benefits, supporting farmers practising sustainable land management. Current status is active with consultation on possible policy changes.
