The Ministers’ Etc. Pension Scheme (Amendment) 2025
Amendments have been made to maintain alignment between the Cost Control Mechanism in the Ministers’ Pension Scheme and equivalent mechanisms in other public sector schemes.
The McCloud Remedy addresses age discrimination in public service pension schemes by allowing members to choose between legacy and reformed pension benefits. Led by the Cabinet Office with involvement from multiple departments, the remedy requires issuing Remedial Service Statements to affected members, though implementation is significantly delayed with some members facing waits until 2027. The Civil Service Pension Scheme administration and MyCSP are central to delivery.
