The UK government, led by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, maintains and actively expands a sanctions regime targeting Russia and Russian-aligned entities in response to hostile state activity and threats to Euro-Atlantic security. The policy involves targeted financial and travel sanctions on individuals and organisations, with recent designations including Russian information agencies and their leaders, and ongoing consideration of additional sanctions on Georgian officials and entities supporting anti-democratic activities. The regime remains active with regular updates and designations as of December 2025.
