The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs is reforming UK REACH chemical regulation to accelerate restrictions on PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) in consumer products and supply chains. The reform addresses the slow pace of substance assessment, mandatory PFAS disclosure requirements, and industry-funded mechanisms for evaluating new PFAS alternatives. Recommendations include phased restrictions from 2027 and reform completion by March 2027.
