Zero Emission Vehicle Mandate and Future Transport
The Department for Transport and Office for Zero Emission Vehicles are reviewing the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) mandate, which requires manufacturers to sell increasing proportions of zero-emission vehicles, while balancing decarbonisation targets with UK automotive manufacturing competitiveness and supply chain sustainability. The Decarbonisation of Road Transport (Audit) Bill and Electric Vehicles (Standardised Recharging) Bill provide legislative support, with ongoing consultation on regulatory flexibility for goods vehicles and vans.
