PFAS Plan
A cross-government, science-led plan to understand impacts of PFAS on public health and the environment, with coordinated actions to minimise risks.
The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs and the Office for Environmental Protection are monitoring implementation of the Environmental Improvement Plan, with particular emphasis on managing PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination, including waste diversion, health research, remediation guidance, and regulatory restrictions. The plan currently lacks specificity in monitoring requirements and adequate enforcement capacity.
