DEFRA, CEFAS, and the Scottish Government are developing and implementing Fisheries Management Plans (FMPs) to manage fish stocks and sustainable fishing across UK waters post-Brexit. FMPs cover specific fish species and regions (such as seabream, Celtic Sea demersal species, and wrasses) and are informed by the Joint Fisheries Statement. The framework is currently active with ongoing consultations on individual FMPs.
