Privately Rented Homes Energy Performance

The Committee on Fuel Poverty and Department for Energy Security and Net Zero are reviewing energy performance standards for privately rented homes in England and Wales, focusing on Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES) compliance and exemptions. The 2025 update addresses gaps in coverage, including small detached properties under 50 square metres, and proposes amendments to the Energy Performance of Buildings Regulations.
